Dr. Subbiah Shanmugam is a towering figure in surgical oncology in India, bringing an incredible 34 years of clinical and academic excellence to his practice. Widely regarded as one of the best surgical oncologists in Chennai, he has a vast surgical repertoire, having performed over 5,000 major cancer surgeries, including more than 500 advanced laparoscopic procedures. Formerly the Professor and Head of Surgical Oncology at a prestigious government medical college, he has been instrumental in shaping modern cancer surgery in the region. Dr. Shanmugam’s expertise is exceptionally broad, covering complex head and neck reconstructions, limb-sparing surgeries for bone tumours, and minimally invasive techniques for GI and gynaecological cancers.
